PUBLICATION ETHICS

BERINGS Scientific Journal: Besemah Engineering is a Civil Engineering peer-reviewed journal, published by P3M Pagar Alam Institute of Technology, as a national journal dedicated to publishing the results of Community Service activities carried out by Students, Lecturers and all levels of society. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal, including the Editorial Board, authors, chief editors, reviewers, and publishers.

 

WRITER

Reporting standards
Authors of original research reports must present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The data must be recovered accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to enable others to replicate the work. False or intentionally inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure the originality of their writing and provide clear information/sources when using quotations. Authors are not prohibited from publishing their research papers in more than one journal because submitting the same manuscript in more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors may not generally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

Source Acknowledgment
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite influential publications in determining the nature of the work reported.

List of Scriptwriters
Authors should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, conduct, or interpretation of the research being reported. All persons who have made significant contributions must be listed as co-authors. Persons or other parties who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they must be recognized or registered as contributors. Corresponding authors must ensure that all suitable authors are listed in the manuscript and no non-conforming authors, and that all authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and been approved for submission for publication.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If the author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in the published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the editor of the journal or publisher and work with the editor to withdraw or correct the manuscript.

 

EDITOR

Publication decision
Editors are responsible for deciding which articles the editorial board has accepted for publication. The editor can refer to the policies of the editorial board of the journal and is limited by applicable legal provisions regarding defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. Editors may also confer with other editors or reviewers in making decisions.

Aspects of Justice
The editor may at any time evaluate the contents of a manuscript regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political philosophy.

confidentiality
The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisers and the publisher.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Material in manuscripts submitted and not published in journals may not be used in editor research, without the written consent of the author.

 

REVIEWER

Contribution to Editorial Decisions : Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors, can help authors improve manuscripts. Reviewers are also expected to provide suggestions for improvements to the results of the review.

Promptness: Any reviewer who feels unqualified to review research reported in a manuscript or to conduct a speedy review of a manuscript must notify the editor and not be involved in the review process. Invited reviewers must also confirm their willingness/unwillingness to review articles.

Confidentiality : Every manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document. These manuscripts do not have to be displayed or discussed with other parties unless permission is obtained from the editor.

Standards of Objectivity : Judging must be done objectively. The author is not allowed to criticize personally. Reviewers must provide clear information about the results of the review along with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources: The reviewer must identify relevant published papers and those that have not been cited by the author. Statements about previously reported observations, derivations or arguments must be accompanied by relevant citations. The reviewer must also coordinate with the editor regarding the substantial similarity between the manuscript under consideration and other articles that have been published to the best of the knowledge of the editor and reviewer.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest : Information or ideas obtained from peer reviewers must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers are not permitted to consider a manuscript caused by a conflict of interest, collaborative, or other interests with the author, company, or related institution
